QUESTIONS:

I can’t find the video feature on my Blackjack II.  I can get into the camera, but I can’t figure out how to switch it into camcorder mode.

Has anyone else had luck?

Thanks.

ANSWER:

Tiffany,

I am sending a copy of this post to the Code Factory’s Support team.

On the Samsung BlackJack 2, the video feature of the phone is referred to as “camcorder”.

Let me begin by telling you that you should not feel badly that you cannot find the camcorder feature on the Samsung BlackJack 2 Smart Phone running Mobile Speak Smart Phone from Code Factory.

MSS does not read the menus in this area of the phone very well, to be sure.

Please take note of the following:

1.
When you launch the camera, MSS inconveniently falls silent.

2.
In order to determine what your soft key options are, you must first press either the left or right soft key.  This will display your soft key choices but only for about 2 seconds, then it disappears.  I suppose this is to maximize the real estate in the viewfinder.

3.
To enter the menus via the soft keys you must press the right soft key twice in rapid succession.  This will bring up the standard list menu but only for 2 seconds then, it too, disappears.  MSS will not read the items on this list.

4.
The camera does have a shortcut key list, however.  These keys quickly allow you to activate the various features of the camera/camcorder without having to use the menu system.  The Options shortcut key is the number 9.

5.
Pres the number 9 key while the camera is running and this will bring up the Options menu.  This menu will not disappear.  Believe it or not, MSS will not read the items on this menu, however, it will read any submenus that are the result of selecting one of these unread menu items.

6.
The items on the Options menu are as follows:  General, Camera, Camcorder, and Shortcuts.

7.
To switch between camera and camcorder mode, simply press the number 1 key.  MSS does not announce which mode you are in.  For sighted folks, however, there is a visual cue to indicate the mode.

Tiffany, hang in there.  I am sure Code Factory will address these issues in their next release–at least, I hope so.

Mark
