How and When to Imbed Hyperlinks into an Email Message

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

I received a question asking me how to imbed a web page address, as a hyperlink, into an email message.

WHEN:
Sometimes, it is preferable to imbed a web address into an email message as a hyperlink rather than typing the web address directly into the message because doing so  may cause the email recipient to receive a broken link.  For example, if the web address is too long, the email recipient may receive the address split between two lines rather than appearing on a single one.  Should this happen, clicking the URL will not launch the intended page, thus, the URL is considered broken.

By imbedding a web page address into the email as a hyperlink, you only need to instruct the email recipient to click specific text in order to launch the site. (more…)

Mobile Media Magic

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

INTRODUCTION:

If you are anything like me, you see your Windows Mobile Smart Phone as an all-in-one data center and communications portal.  That is, not only do you want your welterweight wireless wizard to reliably connect you to the internet, allow you to create and organize documents, remind you of upcoming appointments, oh yeah and let you make telephone calls but you also want it to be your private dynamic digital DJ and soft-spoken and sensitive story teller.

While no one, in his right mind that is, will question the unprecedented success of the iPod, iTunes, and the iPhone, for some of us old-timers, the thought of slowly succumbing to the sweet sound of the siren’s song and, thereafter, forever swimming in the sweltering yet boorishly chic sea of Apple cider is simply too sickening to swallow.  We feel this way not because we are silly, stupid, or stubborn; it is only that we acknowledge and appreciate the beauty, the majesty, and dare I say it, the magic of Windows Media Player Mobile for Smart Phones.

I am going to share some of this mobile media magic with you.  So, sit back, grab a glass of red Koolade (You thought I was going to say wine, didn’t you?), and be prepared to be dazzled.   (more…)

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please be aware that on most Windows Mobile Smart Phones, there are two applications that include the word “Task” in their title, the Task application and Task Manager.  The following instructions are for use with the Task application and not the Windows Mobile Task Manager. (more…)

A Little Higher

A LITTLE HIGHER

by Mark Marcus
I am thinking of you, today, and I smile.  I smile as I remember you, my untouched, unwrapped, and forever unreachable one.

What do I remember?  The way you look, the way you sound, the ease with which you took my love to a higher ground.

I remember the waxing of your flame, the waning of your roar, and how the intensity of your gaze led my soul to a higher floor.

You made me yours at the beginning, even from the start, not with words or gestures but with the power of your convictions that inflated and enraptured my all but forgotten heart.

Being yours was uncertain, being yours was Hell, until that moment when I realized that torment isn’t so  bad when suffered at a higher level.

Do you think of me?  For this I pray and for this I hope as even the memory of you makes me feel as though I am afloat, in a glorious chariot of fire.

I thank you, my darling, I thank you,  my love, for sharing the sweet and secret songs of your dreams and emotions gifted by an angelic choir.

You are mine and mine alone, in the quiet still misty midnight hour, for you and you alone dared enough, cared enough to take me a little higher.

This Drink’s For You

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Introducing Web Tender, an online bartender database for use on your PC or mobile phone.

As I am sure you know, bartenders, the good ones at least, have to memorize hundreds of drink recipes.  Frankly, this is why they are the proverbial backbone of party time personnel.

Now, with the Web Tender’s thousands of cocktail recipes on hand and, more importantly, online, there is nothing keeping the bartender in you from becoming a reality.

Not only can you search by drink name and/or ingredients but you can save the recipes for your favorite potent potables and even email them to a friend.

Each of the text only recipes includes the ingredients, measurements, instructions, and what type of glass to use.

From your desktop computer (including Mobile Speak for Smart Phone users) go to:
http://webtender.com/

or

From your mobile phone (not accessible with MSS) go to:
