FIRST WINDOWS MOBILE 6.5 DEVICE FROM SAMSUNG
by Chuong Nguyen, January 26th, 2009 at 03:19 PM

This is filed under the leaks and rumors section for now, but MSMobileNews has it that Samsung will be releasing two new Windows Mobile devices in 2009, if sources from eXpansys are to be reliable. Staff at eXpansys were given a chance to preview the devices. The first will be a Touch Pro competitor and the second will bring Windows Mobile 6.5 to the Epix form factor.

The first device will be a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device that will take on HTC and the Touch Pro. Unlike HTC, which abandoned the tilting screen of the TyTN II, this Samsung device will be all about the tilt. Think of the Omnia, with its Widgets and a sliding keyboard, tilting screen, and a nice Samsung interface.

The second device will more closely resemble the Epix with its front-facing keyboard. The device is said to be the first with Windows Mobile 6.5 device. On the hardware side, you’ll find a 5 megapixel camera, LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, and aGPS.
