Hello My Fellow Windows 7 Wonderers,
As you have no doubt heard, while Windows 7 Virtual PC will let you run multiple virtualized instances of Windows 7, Vista, Lynix, etc, on any computer with the ability to run Windows 7 with enough hard disk space, the new Windows 7 XP Mode, which will allow one to run an XP version of a legacy software application in Windows 7 so that it appears to be launching directly in the new OS, will not be permitted on many of today’s computers because of hardware limitations.Â
To be blunt, in my opinion, the ability to run in XP mode will be completely useless and/or needless to approximately 95% of private consumers.Â
Nevertheless, if you would like to know, for certain, if your computer will or will not support Windows 7 XP Mode virtualization, Click Here to download a simple executable file, written by Steve Gibson, that will take a quick assessment of your computer’s hardware and display an easy to understand report on your computer’s virtualization hardware capability. No installation is necessary to run this assessment program.Â
