Hello My Samsung-Savvy Siblings,

DISCLAIMER:
In no way does the author of this document, Candle Shore Inc., its Board of Directors, officers, employees, associates, and/or affiliates guaranty that the following procedure will result in the successful unlocking of any and all wireless devices.  Further, Candle Shore Inc., its Board of Directors, officers, employees, associates, and/or affiliates are not responsible for any damage to any device that may result from the following procedure.  By taking any action, as a result of reading this document, you hereby agree to accept any and all responsibilities that are the result of following any and all steps listed in this document.

CAUTION!
The following procedure should be performed with extreme care.  You are permitted only 5 attempts to correctly complete the procedure.  After the fifth failed attempt, no further attempts are allowed and the device will need to be sent into Samsung at the owner’s cost.

NOTE 1:
After 1 (one) failed attempt at using the 8-digit Subsidy Unlock Code, Samsung strongly recommends that you immediately contact Samsung technical support before making a second attempt.

To unlock a GSM (Global System for Mobile) Samsung Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC so that it can be used on any GSM wireless network, do the following:

1.
Obtain your device’s specific 8-digit Subsidy Unlock Code from the wireless network service provider from which you purchased the phone.

NOTE 2:
You must provide the device’s unique IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number to your service provider in order to obtain the correct 8-digit Subsidy Unlock Code.  Among other places, the IMEI number can be found inside the battery compartment of the phone; you may also have the phone display its IMEI number by simply dialing *#06# from the Today/Home Screen.

2.
Power off the phone.

3.
Remove the phone’s Subscriber Identity Module (SIM card).

4.
Power on the phone.  A “missing SIM card” error message will be displayed.

5.
Tap the phone’s [Enter] key to ignore and hide the “missing SIM card” error message.

6.
From the Today/Home Screen dial the following:

#7465625*638*[8-digit Subsidy Code (provided by wireless network service provider)]#

You should receive a message informing you that the phone was successfully unlocked.  If you do not receive this message, do not attempt to unlock the phone again but rather, contact Samsung Technical support for assistance, from within the United States, at (888) 987-HELP. [(888) 987-4357] from any telephone other than the one you wish to unlock.

Good Luck,

Mark
