Hello My Fellow iPhone 3GS Apple Bobbers,

Some VoiceOver iPhone 3GS users have noticed that if they inadvertently 2-finger double-tap the device’s touch-screen (an Apple VoiceOver specific command for the visually impaired) while the Home Screen is displayed, music from the built-in iPod media player application will begin playing. 

Although not mentioned in any documentation that I could find, This is intentional, and is a shortcut for playing the music you previously paused so you don’t have to navigate all the way back to it in the iPod application in order to access the Play/Pause Control.
