Hello All,

You know, I am a very blessed man.  Back in 1985 on a warm summer night, I found myself walking hand-in-hand with a beautiful gypsy girl in Fremantle, Western Australia.  We were in love.

I remember the warm wind and how it caused her long brown hair to swirl about and brush the side of my neck and face.  I remember how she squeezed my hand as she hurried, with me in tow, from one street-side shop to another with excitement at the prospect of what treasures may lie within them.  It was a perfect night, a night for young love and for young dreams, as well.

At some point during that perfect Saturday night, we    found ourselves inside a mystic shop which held within its shabby dark brown walls all kinds of objects the likes of which I had never beheld in person.  I remember that it was a very quiet place and what few customers there were, conversed in a whisper.

Walking very slowly through the almost impossibly narrow isles of the shop, we made our way to where the crystal bobbles held court.

Wishing to express my love, I offered to purchase for her a tiny charm by which she would always remember the evening.

She thanked me for the offer with a kiss.  Gentlemen, being kissed by a gypsy woman is a life changing experience that only others of such rare fortune can ever understand.  That kiss opened my mind to pondering the various realms of existence that I had never before considered.

Then, she insisted that I purchase a crystal ball, for myself; to have with me always in order to remember her and our love, forever.  In that moment, that perfect moment, I would have given her not only the stars and the moon but my very soul.  I purchased, for approximately $300 a gorgeous crystal ball.

Recently, I located my crystal ball still in its original box with its original black velvet cloth.  During the ensuing years since that perfect warm sweet Fremantle Saturday night, I have removed the ball from its packaging less than 10 times and it has only been held by fewer than 5 people including me.

I took it out the other day and remembered.  While my crystal ball may never allow me to gaze into the future, it quite effortlessly takes me back to the past.

The following are some articles on crystal balls that you may find interesting.
