Hello My Fellow Apple-orchard Dwellers,

What is an Apple ID?  An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more.

Although I continue to be amazed at the ever increasing level of accessibility Apple Inc. affords its physically challenged customers, and although I use both my Macintosh computers and iOS devices more than any other, on a daily basis, when it comes to providing serious online data such as credit card information, billing and shipping addresses, answers to security questions, etc I prefer to use my good-old Windows PC with its ever-so-familiar screen magnifier and text-to-speech engine.

Having said this, I must also add that while one can update any pertinent information from within the various forms of iTunes and the iCloud Control panel, from almost any Apple device or Windows PC, I simply cringe when doing so in fear that I may make a mistake.  Is this unreasonable?  Perhaps it is.  Nevertheless, for me anyway, it is so.  Oh, one more thing.  Should one choose, one can always elect to update Apple ID info via telephone courtesy of Apple iTunes customer support.

Consequently, for me, there is only one solution when it comes to creating or changing billing, shipping, or payment information, associated with my Apple ID; and that solution is to use a web browser such as Safari or Internet Explorer.

To use a web browser to update any information associated with an Apple ID, do the following:

1.
Go to: http://appleid.apple.com
Here, you will be able to create or change an Apple ID, edit or reset a password, change contact preferences, edit privacy settings or security questions, etc.  In fact, you can do almost anything here accept modify or add a payment method such as providing credit card info.  To add or modify a payment method associated with an Apple ID:

2.
Go to:  http://store.apple.com and click on the Account Tab to get started.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Until Next Time,

Mark
