It’s Taking Me And My Epix A Little Higher

November 13th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Today’s little tale is the tale of a Taylor-man who purchased the new Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone who, upon arriving back at home after the once-in-a-lifetime experience, discovered that unlike his first true love, the Samsung Blackjack II, which was able to obtain a full cellular signal from within his home office, the very posh and very hot and very sleek and very shiny and very slim and very heavy and very cool and very groovy Epix, at best, was able to barely inch into the slow lane of the cellular freeway with 1-bar of signal strength; and even then only at the right time of day with the perfect temperature and held at just the right pitch while being pointed at the Southern Lights, kind-of but not really but sort-of, maybe, sometimes.  (I wonder if this is the longest sentence I’ve ever written?  I’ll have to think about that.)

Oh Dear!  What to do?  Hmmmm!   Read the rest of this entry »

TWO GLASSES OF WINE

November 13th, 2008

Hello Everyone,

Generally speaking, I do not pass on emails that somehow make their way across the Internet because, generally speaking, I hate having my Inbox flooded with unsolicited material, useful or not.  However, a friend sent the following little tidbit to me and it made me stop, look around, smile and remember.  I hope it will do the same for you.

Enjoy,

Time Enough At Last, Part Two

November 11th, 2008

Hello Again, Everyone:

I am fortunate enough to have friends that live in various countries throughout the world.  When I was younger, it seems, I never had any problem remembering how to calculate the time zone differences between our respective countries.

Nowadays I cannot seem to calculate the timezone difference between Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.  (Smile)

For those of you who are like me, you know, the “Time Zone Challenged”, allow me to introduce World Time Server.  Read the rest of this entry »

UPDATE NOTE:

Before reading further, Click Here to see an update to the following information.

Hello Everyone,

One thing I have noticed on my new Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone (Blackjack 3) is, with the installation of Code Factory’s Mobile Speak software for the blind and low vision, the volume level of the first two or three seconds of the incoming call notification is very, very low.  I suppose this has something to do with the type of sound card used on the Epix.  Read the rest of this entry »

Q & A: How to Add or Remove System Sound Files from A Windows Mobile 6.x Device

November 4th, 2008

Question:
Does anyone know how to delete some of the pre-installed ringtones? I have 40+ ringtones on there that sound absolutely rediculous and I would not want them, at this point.

Answer:
In order to remove from or add system sound files to your mobile 6.x device:

NOTE 1:
My following answer is based on the Samsung Blackjack II with WM6.0/WM6.1 Standard Edition and the new Samsung Epix (Blackjack 3) with WM6.1 Professional Edition in conjunction with Windows XP Pro SP2.  Most likely, the same or similar file structure would apply on many WM 6.x devices.

NOTE 2:
Depending upon your system setup, some of the following steps may not be necessary.

1.
Make sure you are logged onto your computer with Administrator privileges.  Read the rest of this entry »

EP: Fortieth Birthday

November 2nd, 2008

Hello Everyone,

I hope you like this approximately 30 minute episode of the Beyond Midnight radio drama.

This episode, entitled “Fortieth Birthday” is complete with the original broadcast commercials.

I decided to publish this episode as a Candle Shore podcast because it is important to keep in mind that although it is sometimes necessary to second-guess ourselves, never should we second-guess our spouses.  As you listen to this wonderfully timeless drama, you’ll see what I mean!!  (Big Smile)

Listen to this episode either on your computer, MP3 player or, as I do, on your mobile phone and always remember, especially on your next birthday.

Enjoy,

Episode:  Fortieth Birthday
