What about your body?
I know that what I am about to tell you may be unexpected but I think it’s important, so here we go:
First, I want you to really watch your diet while you’re unemployed. Most of us tend to face depression and uncertainty by seeking out comfort zones. For many of us these include eating junk food and drinking too much alcohol. It is paramount that you keep a sharp mind during this phase of your life and this will be difficult to do if you’re constantly fighting sugar crashes and/or alcohol hangovers.Â
Second, if you do not exercise on a regular basis then I want you to start, immediately. One way to accomplish this is to start taking long (at least one mile) walks everyday. Exercise is a great way to fight depression.
STEP FIVE:
Take care of your body.
Listen, losing your job made you feel powerless. I know; I’ve been there. I am here to tell you that this is simply not true. You have a tremendous amount of power; in fact, you have more power now than you did when you were employed because now you have the power to choose what kind of life you will lead. Do not give your power to junk food, alcohol, or laziness. After all, this time will never come again.
If you are to succeed, you must work on your body as well as your mind during this challenge.Â
I won’t kid you, it will not be easy; but, then again, nothing worth having in this life ever is.
Take back your life by taking back your power.
