Hello Everyone,
At the risk of being biased, I feel as though “everyone†wants to beat up on the Samsung Blackjack 2. For the life of me, I do not know why. Aside from some MSS accessibility oversights, due to the Samsung model specific applications, we BJ2 users appear to have the least difficulty with our Windows Mobile 6 based phones. Â
The reason why the BJ2 had “a problem†accessing the web after installing Mobile Speak, in the beginning, was because of one setting that can easily be corrected with the push of a few buttons.Â
I and others have documented virtually everything that an MSS user needs to know in order to get the BJ2 up and running in a matter of minutes. I understand that some people think that they should not have to “correct†anything on a new device and, believe me, I understand and, to some degree, concur. Nevertheless, in every real sense, we are dealing with new technology at almost every turn. I, for one, am proud to help blaze this new frontier for the blind and low vision generations to come.Â
So, please know that the Samsung Blackjack 2 is a fine device which I would recommend to any visually impaired person who wants a full featured Windows Smart Phone, MSS licensing fee not withstanding.Â
As some of you may know, I like cell phone technology very much. Since I purchased my BJ2 at the end of December, 07, I have assisted many, many people in purchasing the BJ2. While most of them were sighted, some of them were not and yet, all have told me that they feel they made the best choice given their previous experiences with Smart Phones.Â
I want you to know that I have also recommended the Pantech Duo to several people who wanted the convenience of a classic telephone keypad. They, like the BJ2 users, love their choice.
Further, as some of you may know, until my last two phones, I only purchased Motorola wireless handsets. I am a huge fan of Motorola and I suppose I will always be for I trust the quality of their products and believe in their commitment to their customers.Â
I write these things so that you will know that what I say is based on my current experience and not some outdated predisposition. Â
We should not allow the ignorance of a few AT&T support representatives to keep us from enjoying a high quality mobile device such as the Samsung Blackjack II.Â
I’ll be honest, I was almost ready to take my second BJ2 back to the store after over six hours of AT&T technical support failed to get my unit online. Fortunately, I asked for help on the Mobile Speak for Smart Phones users list and a very gracious Rebecca had the answer for me.  Â
I am not suggesting that the BJ2 is the best Smart Phone on the wireless market but I fervently stand by the opinion that there is none better.Â
In short, you don’t have to live in Las Vegas to know that Blackjack is the best game in town.
(Smile)
Most Sincerely,
Mark
