Hello Everyone,

The following is a compilation of reviews comparing the Samsung Blackjack 2 to the original Samsung Blackjack Smart Phone.

The Samsung BlackJack II improves on its predecessor with Windows Mobile 6; GPS; a 2-megapixel camera; and more memory and better performance. The smartphone also features a larger display and enhanced full QWERTY keyboard as well as HSDPA support, Bluetooth, and AT&T Video Share support.

The Samsung Blackjack 2 not only features a revamped design that includes a slightly larger screen and a better keyboard, but there’s been work done under the hood to solve some of the performance issues of the past: more memory, a faster processor, and a larger battery. And let’s not forget to mention the added GPS, Windows Mobile 6 upgrade, and 2-megapixel camera.

Whether you’re new to the Blackjack or a previous/current owner, the Samsung Blackjack 2 is sure to draw some oohs and ahhs, as we’ve already witnessed during our review period.  The two available models are striking for different reasons: the black version has a lacquered finish that makes it eye-catching, while the burgundy color is just plain sexy and unlike any other. There’s another difference between the two devices, besides just the color.  The burgundy Blackjack has a textured finish on the back that makes the phone easy to grip, while the black version does not, so it’s somewhat slick and prone to smudges, but that’s not a deal breaker.

Improvements over the original Blackjack are myriad and manifold:
The BJ2 has a better screen, significantly improved battery life, and Windows Mobile 6.  The scroll wheel has been integrated into the 5-way navigation button, which is really slick and easy to use. It should be standard in every 5-way from now on.

Unlike the original model, keypad numbers are directly adjacent to each other such as those found on a standard telephone keypad.

Sound quality from the internal and external speakers is greatly improved from the BJ1.
The integrated GPS in the BJ2 works very well with Windows Live Search and Google Maps.
Battery life from the standard BJ2 battery is very good.
BJ2 is lighter than the BJ1 with the extended battery.  This is very noticeable when wearing it in a holster.
The BJ2 is made from a thin shinny plastic.  It is assembled quite well and, unlike its predecessor, does not creak or squeak.
The BJ2 screen seems to have a different finish on it that affects the contrast as compared to the BJ1.  It seems washed out at first but it does seems to improve the readability slightly when used in sunlight and is noticeably larger than the BJ1 screen.
The keyboard is definitely easier to use than the one on the original Blackjack.

That’s all for now, Boys and Girls.
