Hello Everyone,Â
Ever get frustrated with trying to figure out how to dial vanity telephone numbers?
A vanity telephone number is one that uses the alphabet as a mnemonic to remembering the number. For example (800) FLOWERS.Â
Well now you can dial to your little heart’s content with the new Vanity Dialing feature now available on many WM6.1 mobile devices such as the Samsung Blackjack II Smart Phone.Â
Here’s how it works:
1.
From the Settings Menu, select Key Settings.
2.
Select Vanity Dialing. A Dialog box will appear.Â
3.
Press the Right Arrow key to turn this feature on and then press the Left Soft key to Save the setting.Â
4.
Continue to press the Left Soft key until you are returned to the Today/Home screen.Â
5.
Now, reboot the device.
6.
After the device has been powered on again. From the Today/Home screen, begin entering a telephone number such as 800.
7.
When you get to the point in the number where you wish to enter letters instead of the corresponding numbers, tap the CAPSLOCK key to enter text input mode, then, use the letters on the QWERTY keypad to complete entering the word that corresponds to the remaining numbers in the telephone number such as FLOWERS.
8.
When you have Finished entering the letters, simply press the [Enter] key to initiate the call.Â
MOTE TO MOBILE SPEAK USERS:
At the time of this post, when entering the letters in vanity mode, they will not be echoed by MSS.
Enjoy,
Mark
