QUESTION
Hello Mark:
Â
Is there a way to get to your call history on the epix? I noticed that unlike the default dialer on the Kaiser, there is no direct call history option in the phone app. Thanks, help would be appreciated.

ANSWER
Hello José,
The short answer to your question is “Yesâ€, there is a way to access the Epix Call History with Mobile Speak.Â
Before I describe how to access the Call History on the Samsung Epix using Code Factory’s Mobile Speak software for the blind and low vision, understand (1) the Samsung Epix is not currently officially supported by CF and (2) that the following steps are merely a workaround as CF is dedicated to making the Epix as easily and flawlessly accessible as it has done for all of its supported devices.
OVERVIEW
Sighted Epix users or those using Mobile Speak magnifier can view the call history in several ways including the following:
A.
From the Today screen, tap the Send button. A list of the recent call history will appear although this is not the same Call History application used in previous versions of the operating system. As of this writing, Mobile Speak will not read this call list.
B.
1.
From the Today screen, tap the Send button. A list of the recent call history will appear
2.
Tap the Left Soft Key, labeled “Keypadâ€. A virtual keyboard display will appear. On the right side of the display are several virtual buttons one of which is labeled Call History. This button launches the original Call History application found in previous operating systems. Consequently, it is completely accessible with Mobile Speak.
Unfortunately, there is no simple way to access this button in the current version of MSP save the following situations.
C.
1.
When the Left Soft Key is labeled “Notification†at the Today screen, tap it once. If the notification reads that you have missed a call, the Left Soft key will be labeled View and the Right Soft Key will be labeled either Dismiss or Menu.Â
2.
Tap the Left Soft Key to view any information on the missed call, the accessible standard Call History window will appear. Use the Right Soft Key within this window as you normally would.Â
D.
1.
Upon either ending a call or having the call ended for you, a variation of the Call screen window will be displayed. At this point, the Left Soft Key will be labeled “Keypad†and the Right Soft Key will be labeled “Menuâ€.
2.
Tap the Right Soft Key to launch the Shortcut Menu.
3.
Select Call History. The accessible standard Call History application will launch.
Enjoy,
Mark
