QUESTION:
Hi folks,
I am John and I am new to both the list and the world of smart phones, trying Mobile speak on a Samson saga.
I am wondering if this is the phone for me and would appreciate any thoughts from anyone who might be using one. Thanks.
John
ANSWER:Â
Hello John and welcome to the Code Factory Mailing List.
Although I read your message last night, I wanted to take some time to think about it before posting a reply, which is as follows:
With all due respect to a subsequent reply you received from this list, I do not believe you should measure your Mobile Speak or technical prowess by your experience on the Samsung Saga.Â
By entering “Saga†in the Search Field of this BLOG you will locate my review of the device based on my experience as a visually impaired user.
Regardless, simply put, the Saga is not supported by Mobile Speak at this time. To date, Code Factory has not indicated if or when it will be supported. While it is true that one can use workaround methods for several non supported phones in order to benefit from Mobile Speak, as far as I know, the Saga is not one such device.Â
Therefore, just because the Saga is not comfortably accessible with Mobile Speak, is in no way an indication of what you will experience with another, Code Factory officially supported, device.Â
As both a Verizon Wireless and A T & T Wireless subscriber, it is my opinion that the best and most advanced, feature-rich, and accessible device currently supported by Mobile Speak is the Samsung Epix SGH-i907 touch-screen Smartphone offered by A T & T Wireless.
Coincidaentlly, the Epix is a much more powerful version of the Verizon Wireless Saga.Â
Not only is the Epix among the most powerful Windows Mobile device on the wireless market, but the quality of the hardware is clearly unparalleled to anything I’ve ever seen before; and, I might add, I’ve seen them all.
As for the Verizon Wireless Motorola Q9C Windows Mobile non touch-screen Smartphone, officially supported by Code Factory, while adequate during it’s time, it is a product of an out-of-date generation of wireless devices and, as such, I would definitely recommend against purchasing it for virtually any reason save the most dire of financial situations.
I strongly recommend that you switch to A T & T Wireless and purchase a Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone. Afterwards, you can download a 30 day free trial version of Mobile Speak from Code Factory’s website.
Good Luck and no matter what you choose, welcome aboard.
Most Sincerely,
Mark
