The following is from Code Factory, developer of Mobile Geo, a Windows Mobile GPS software solution for the visually impaired and Mobile Speak, a screen reading/magnification software solution for the blind and low vision for use on mobile devices.Â
This policy is intended to deal with those cases where devices on which Code Factory products are installed have been stolen, broken, or through any other circumstance become unusable or inaccessible to the owner of the Code Factory product on the phone.
Within the first eighteen months after purchase of a license to use any Code Factory Product, Code Factory will provide, free of charge, one replacement license, that is, a license to be used on another device, for the same products so long as Code Factory receives one of the following documents:
1.
Document from a police department, other authority, or insurance provider, showing that the device has been stolen; or
2.
Document from an insurance provider, mobile telephone operator or provider, mobile telephone store, or service centre, showing that a device has been broken and replaced.
These documents may be sent via Email, fax, or postal mail. Upon receipt of such a document, the product’s owner will be issued a free replacement license for the product a license for which was originally purchased.
If it has been more than eighteen months since the purchase of the license, or if the person owning the product license has already received a free replacement license, the person will be required, if he/she wishes to use the Code factory products in question on the new device, to purchase a product replacement license, also known as a phone upgrade license.
For Windows Mobile phones, such licenses can be purchased directly from Code Factory. Product owners may contact
sales@codefactory.es to purchase such licenses.
For Symbian phones, product owners can contact their local distributors to purchase upgrade licenses. A list of local distributors may be found at:
http://www.codefactory.es/en/purchase.asp?id=54
No aspect of this policy effects the ability of license owners to transfer their licenses to another device automatically through the user-centred licensing system if their devices have been licensed using that system.
Transfers using the user-centred licensing system can be made at any time and an unlimited number of times. This replacement policy applies to phones which, because they are not usable by the product owner, or because they do not use the user centred licensing system, cannot have their licenses transferred.
