TIP:  You’re The CAPS Meow, iPhone 3GS

Hello Everyone,

One thing the iPhone 3G/3GS keyboard doesn’t seem to have is a CAPS-LOCK feature that, when activated, enables you to type all-uppercase letters. To do this, you need to tap and hold the Shift key and then use a different finger to tap the uppercase letters. However, the iPhone 3G/3GS keyboard actually does have a Caps Lock feature; it’s just that it’s turned off by default.

To turn on CAPS-LOCK, follow these steps:

1.
From the Home screen, select Settings

2.
Select General.

3.
Select Keyboard.

4.
Toggle the Enable Capitalization Button to “ON”.

Now, the next time you want to type in all CAPS, simply Double-Tap the Shift Key on the virtual keyboard and it will remain “ON” until you Tap it yet again.

NOTE TO VOICEOVER USERS:
Upon enabling the Capitalization Feature, it is not necessary to Double-Tap to Lock/Unlock the Shift Key.  Simply select this key as normal and it will now remain selected until you Tap it yet again to turn “OFF” CAPS-LOCK.

Enjoy,

Mark
