FROM CLAIRE (Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008)
No offense here, but since I’ve been on this Code Factory mailing list, I’ve seen several posts of what I’d consider to be a negative spin in regard to Mark’s postings.Â
If this is true, and I’m in fact reading this correctly, then let me simply ask, “Why?â€Â
Mark is doing a great service here, to bring these little nuggets of technology tips to both our and Code Factory’s attention; and, I might add, doing a very good and entertaining job of it too! Â
What’s with the tone? It sounds like animosity to me, but of course, I could be wrong, as email can be a bit difficult to gleam emotions from at times.Â
If I’m off base, then, my sincerest apologies.Â
Have an awesome evening all and catch ya on the flip!
Smiles,
Claire
REPLY FROM MARK (Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008)
Hello Claire,
You know, I was originally going to reply to you off-list but then decided to reply to your very thoughtful post on-list, instead.Â
Sadly, you have not misinterpreted the animosity levied against me by those associated with Code Factory.
I truly do not understand it, either, but I know that there are more who appreciate my efforts than those who do not.
I constantly address those associated with Code Factory as Family and I do so quite deliberately. Nevertheless, a few of those whom I seek to assist in gaining technological independence have time and time again accused me of being motivated by something other than altruism.
Be that as it may, because of people like you and several others who appreciate my work, I am very glad to be a part of the Code Factory community even though I am continually fielding criticisms. I suppose it is the price one pays for being innovative and, in some instances, unwaveringly honest with those who trust me to be so.
Claire, reading your words and the supportive comments of others more than makes up for those who only seek to criticize without contributing.Â
Don’t worry; the circle will not be broken.Â
Most Sincerely,
Mark

Sadly, it would appear that I was wrong for the circle has, indeed, been broken.
