A LITTLE HIGHER

by Mark Marcus
I am thinking of you, today, and I smile.  I smile as I remember you, my untouched, unwrapped, and forever unreachable one.

What do I remember?  The way you look, the way you sound, the ease with which you took my love to a higher ground.

I remember the waxing of your flame, the waning of your roar, and how the intensity of your gaze led my soul to a higher floor.

You made me yours at the beginning, even from the start, not with words or gestures but with the power of your convictions that inflated and enraptured my all but forgotten heart.

Being yours was uncertain, being yours was Hell, until that moment when I realized that torment isn’t so  bad when suffered at a higher level.

Do you think of me?  For this I pray and for this I hope as even the memory of you makes me feel as though I am afloat, in a glorious chariot of fire.

I thank you, my darling, I thank you,  my love, for sharing the sweet and secret songs of your dreams and emotions gifted by an angelic choir.

You are mine and mine alone, in the quiet still misty midnight hour, for you and you alone dared enough, cared enough to take me a little higher.

Hello Everyone,

I was just thinking about my favorite television commercial of all time.  The title of the 1971 Coca-Cola advertisement is “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing”.

Click Here to watch it now.

To read a college level essay I wrote about this landmark production, Click Here.

Enjoy,

Hello There,

You honor me by taking the time to read my words; thank you.

The following is a short message from my heart to yours:

Remember, love yourself as you love others and love others as you have never loved before.

Most Sincerely,

Mark Marcus

Please, please do not be embarrassed by your dilemma, my friend.

Believe me, I understand.

Many, many moons ago when I first arrived in California, I, quite simply, ran out of money. Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings:

From the humble seeds of our technological imagination, have blossomed the fearless fruits of wireless progress.  Amen. (Mark Marcus:  February 6, 1967)

As is our nature, with each new fruit borne on the vine of what is now known to be the Information Superhighway, we, incredibly simplistic and characteristically conceited humans, that is, must invent, create, conjugate, elucidate, manipulate, punctuate, masticate, thus, in one way or another, find ways to express the inevitably unforeseen and most likely unforgiving consequences of our tech time toys.  Amen.  (Mark Marcus:  March 18, 1998)

One of the most incredibly wicked weapons we wield in the “war on wisdom” is the wildly popular and wretchedly worthy wireless Smart Phone.  Amen.  (Mark Marcus:  August 10, 2005)

Alas, we must admit and endure, from now unto forever, that we and we alone are responsible for the cunningly crass and cleverly conceived concept of “butt dialing”.

As defined in world class dictionaries, “butt dialing” is when one unknowingly and/or accidentally calls someone from a cell/wireless/mobile phone while it, the truly titillating, timeless, and, more importantly, transmitting trinket, is on one’s person but not in one’s hand.  Amen.  (Mark Marcus:  Friday, April 11, 2008)

I want you to know that you are always in my heart and in my thoughts and I miss you so terribly much.

And I wish we could spend more time together for when we are together, time has no meaning and life, no limits.

The connection, the bond that we have is worth more to me than the finest treasures of my wildest dreams for dreams cannot bring me what you give to me in every thought of you, hope, joy, and peace.

I cannot explain it and, to be honest, I do not want to tame it.  I only want to have it for the rest of my life.

I know how I feel about you and I trust how you feel about me.

Why?

Why, indeed; because the respect and grace you bestow upon me takes me to a higher level, takes me to a different plane of existence, takes me to where I thought I would never go and could never belong.

I truly wonder why God allowed you to fly to me at this point in my life for if we had met in the morning years, perhaps we could have flown together.

Would we have flown together?  Would your wings have touched mine?

Or were we always destined to share a distance, me a reflection of you and you, of me?

Do not harden at my questions for they are not meant to torment you but, rather, to convince you of my love.

For you are my angel and angels need to know.

Most Sincerely,

Mark Marcus

Well, I am back on stage again.

The show continues for another day.

In short, I think the entire ordeal was a good thing because it has motivated me to get back on the proverbial road and climb that mountain that is my destiny.  The thought of this brings pure joy to my heart.  No one can or will stop me from my destiny which was ordained before the day I was born.  It is what makes me great; and there is nothing greater except God.

Thank you for being my guardian angel.

I give you my word that when my ship comes in, you will be on board with me.  Believe me when I say that you have secured passage.

Love,

Mark Marcus
