Question:
Does anyone know how to delete some of the pre-installed ringtones? I have 40+ ringtones on there that sound absolutely rediculous and I would not want them, at this point.

Answer:
In order to remove from or add system sound files to your mobile 6.x device:

NOTE 1:
My following answer is based on the Samsung Blackjack II with WM6.0/WM6.1 Standard Edition and the new Samsung Epix (Blackjack 3) with WM6.1 Professional Edition in conjunction with Windows XP Pro SP2.  Most likely, the same or similar file structure would apply on many WM 6.x devices.

NOTE 2:
Depending upon your system setup, some of the following steps may not be necessary.

1.
Make sure you are logged onto your computer with Administrator privileges. 

2.
On your Windows XP computer, in Windows Explorer, from the Tools menu, select Folder Options.

3.
Select the View Tab.

4.
In the Hidden File and Folder branch of the View tree, select Show Hidden Files and Folders.

5.
Uncheck the “Hide Extensions for Known File Types” Radio button.

6.
Uncheck the “Hide Protected Operating System Ffiles” Radio button.  You will be prompted to confirm your selection.

7.
Click the [Apply to All Folders] button.  You will be prompted to confirm your selection.

8.
Click the [OK] Button.

9.
Attach your wireless device and establish a standard partnership.  The Microsoft ActiveSync interface will be displayed on your PC Desktop.

10.
>From within the ActiveSync Window, from the Tools menu, select Explore
Device.

11.
Select My Windows Mobile Based Device.

12.
Select Windows.

Now you are in the Folder that contains your system sound files.  Please note that the system sound files will have one of three file extensions including .MP3, .WMA, or .Wav.  Also, many of the system sound file names are similar to the titles listed in the operating system list boxes.
