Hello My Fellow Samsung-Savvy Epix SGH-i907 Stewards,

Unlike other wireless devices in its class and generation, hidden deep within the seemingly seamless circuitry of the Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone is a  rather excellent audio control panel that will let you quickly and easily “pump up the volume”!

NOTE 1:
Please read this article in its entirety before making any adjustments to your device.

CAUTION!
It is strongly recommended that you adjust the values in the audio control panel in very small increments to avoid causing damage to the device, its accessories, or, more importantly, your ears. 

To adjust the volume settings on your Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone:

From the phone’s Today/Home screen, on the QWERTY keyboard, dial
*#0002*28346# 
Upon dialing the final symbol in this sequence, the WM9713 Control Utility will launch, automatically.

NOTE 2:
Once this utility is launched, the Left and Right soft keys are labeled “Exit” and “Menu”, respectively. 

NOTE 3:
All values in this control panel are arranged in List Boxes.  Therefore, it is not necessary to enter any specific value, manually; just use your phone’s Up and Down arrow keys to make a selection. 

NOTE 4:
The decibel scale in this control panel ranges from negative to positive values with 0.00db at the center.  That is, any value greater than 0.00db will be louder than those less than 0.00db.  So, if your current value is -3.0db, changing it to either 0.00db or 3.0db will increase the volume level.

NOTE 5:
In order to save any setting, you must select Apply from the Shortcut Menu, accessed by tapping the phone’s Right-Soft key.

TO CHANGE THE RING TONE VOLUME:
1.
Select Menu.

2.
Select Normal.

3.
Select Handset.

4.
Adjust the DAC value. 

5.
To save your changes, select Apply from the Shortcut Menu.

6.
Power off the phone and then, power it back on. 

NOTE 6.
In order to hear the volume level of the new ring tones setting, you must actually make a call to your cell phone.

NOTE 7:
I strongly recommend that you power off the phone before testing any changes you make in the Audio Control Panel.

TO CHANGE THE HANDSET, SPEAKER PHONE, EAR-JACK, AND BLUETOOTH (BTMONO) VOLUME LEVELS:

1.
Menu.

2.
Talking.

3.
Select corresponding items.

4.
To save your changes, select Apply from the Shortcut Menu.

NOTE 8:
The “tx” value controls how loud people hear you.
The “rx” value controls how loud you hear people.

DEFAULT VOLUME SETTINGS FOR THE SAMSUNG EPIX SGH-I907 SMARTPHONE:

Just so you have a baseline, the following values are the default settings for the Epix.

Normal > Handset:  0db, -4.5db, +30db, +20db, 1.5db, blank.

Normal > Headset:  0db, -3db, +24db, +20db, 1.5db.

Talking > Handset:  -3db, -3db, +12db, -3db, +0db, -4.5db.

Talking > Ear-Jack:  0db, -3db, +12db, -6db, +0db, -6db.

Talking > Speakerphone:  -1.5db, 0db, +12db, 10.5db, +0db, -10.5db.

Talking > BTMono:  -17.25db, -12db, -9db, -6db.
