Hello Epix Explorers,

To make Function key assignments, on the Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Smartphone using Code Factory’s Mobile Speak screen magnification/screen-reading software solution for the blind and low-vision, do the following:

1.
From the Start Menu, select Settings.

2.
Select FNC Settings.  The Function key settings Dialog Box will appear with a short description of how to use a Function key assignment.

3.
Select the “Show List” button.  The main screen of the Function key settings Dialog Box is displayed.

NOTE 1:
This Dialog Box is divided into an upper half, which list the current Function key assignment, and a lower half, where you may add, edit, or delete Function key assignments.

NOTE 2:
You may use the Epix navigation control to scroll through the list of current Function key assignments or you may use first-letter navigation in order to quickly jump from one location, in this list, to another.

4.
Highlight/Select a letter with a current Function key assignment set to None.

5.
Tap the Epix MSP [Tab] key.  Mobile Speak will say, “2, Assign a program, Combo, None, 50 of 67, Unavailable.”

6.
Tap the Epix MSP [Tab] key.  Mobile Speak will say, “Period Button.”

7.
Tap the [ENTER] key.  A list of available applications that can be assigned, will appear in a new Dialog Box.  Mobile Speak will say, “Dialog, List, None, 1 of 60, Left-Soft select, Right-Soft Cancel.”

8.
Use the Epix navigation control to highlight your desired application and then tap the Left-Soft key, labeled Select.

NOTE 5:
You may use first-letter navigation in order to quickly jump from one location, in this list, to another.

9:
Continue to tap the Epix [OK] key until you are returned to the Today Screen.

Enjoy,

Mark
