Hello Everyone,

Are you just now beginning to enjoy that shiny new Smartphone, Pocket PC, or wireless device that takes advantage of your wireless service provider’s comfortably understood and time-tested 3G wireless network?  Good, I’m glad you are but don’t get too comfortable for the next generation of wireless technology, generally referred to as 4G Wireless, is here.

At the time of this post, there are currently two branches of technology vying for the “top spot” in the 4G Wireless universe.  They are WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) and LTE (Long Term Evolution) which are both based on a modulation technique called Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, or OFDM.

Listen to an approximately 6-minute CNET News discussion about this emerging technology, that promises to take us even closer to the stars themselves, published here as a Candle Shore podcast.

Enjoy,

Mark
