Hello My Mobile Music Musing Manwiches,

If a picture paints a thousand words, then how many words (lyrics) does it take to paint a thousand pictures?

While I am certain that I do not know the answer to this intriguing question, I do know that one way to get a clearer picture of the words that comprise and compel the thoughts and actions of another is to peruse that person’s music library.

Now, thanks to a site called Dusty Tunes, you can virtually do just that.

Dusty Tunes is a free service that allows you to publish your digital music Playlists online for others to view, sample, and more.

NOTE 1:
Although the site currently supports only iTunes Playlists, you can easily convert Windows Media Player Playlists to the iTunes .XML playlist format for use on the site.  (I use Windows Media Player for all of my media content.)

NOTE 2:
A link to my Juke Box Playlist is located at the bottom of this post.  I will be updating it on a regular basis so check my Dusty Tunes online music library often, OK?

What Is Dusty Tunes?

As listed on the site:  Dusty Tunes automatically creates your own personal web page with a list of all the music in your iTunes library (although you can cheat). It will organise it all into a nice list and provide you with links so you can share it with your friends, on blogs, forums, websites, digg, facebook or simply keep it as a personal reference. You can come back at any time and update your page with all your latest tracks.

“Dusty Tunes offers a rare chance for others to explore your musical tastes from the cool and contemporary tracks to those guilty pleasures that might otherwise be hidden from public view.”

While browsing other user’s lists you can click on the items and listen to samples of the tracks. If you can’t find anything you like in other people’s lists then you can use the Tune Search feature to search for specific items.

Why Use Dusty Tunes?
You can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to, but how often do you get to see someone’s entire collection? Sure there are sites which allow you to see what people have been listening too lately. But that’s only the beginning….what about the stuff they were listening to 5, 10 or 20 years ago. The tracks that shaped their music taste into what it is today. Well now entire music collections can be put on show for the world to see.

Go to http://dustytunes.com to get started with publishing your music library for all to see.

Click Here to view and listen to samples of my all-purpose playlist I call Juke Box.

So go ahead and “Play Me.”

(Smile)

Enjoy,

Mark
