Hello,

 

To connect the Samsung SGH-i637 Smartphone to your home Wi-Fi network, do the following: 

1.
From the Start Menu, Select Settings.

Connections

Wi-Fi

4.
Begin searching for networks by tapping the [Enter] key on the QWERTY keyboard.  A list of available wireless networks in range of the device will be displayed.  Please note that it may take a few moments for the device to detect the network during which time it may display an error message.

Select your desired wireless network by using the phone’s navigation control.

6.
Tap the Left-Soft key, labeled “Connect”, to begin the connection process.  A Dialog Box will appear displaying the following two items that must be completed:  Network Name and Network Type.

7.
Confirm that the correct network name is displayed in the Network Name Field.

8.
In the Network Type List Box, select between Internet or Private/Work Network.  Please note that unless you are using a VPN protocol, select the Private/Work Network item.

9.
Assuming that you wish to connect to a home wireless network, leave the following two checkboxes unchecked.

10.
Tap the Right-Soft key, labeled “Next”.  The Wireless Network Authentication Dialog Box will appear.  

11.
Select the Authentication type of the network.

12.
Select the data encryption protocol for the network.

13.
If necessary, enter the network key.

14.
Tap the Right-Soft key, labeled “Next”.  The 802.1x Dialog Box will appear. 

15.
Unless you have a specific need to modify the settings on this Dialog Box, Tap the Right-Soft key, labeled “Finish”.

Note:  Depending upon your previous selections, Step 15 may not be necessary.
